Prioritizing what’s important

“Prioritizing what’s important.”

Greetings!  Luke 10:38-42 (NIV version) reads “As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him.  She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said.  But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made.  She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself?  Tell her to help me!”  “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things,  but few things are needed – or indeed only one.  Mary has chosen what is better,  and it will not be taken away from her.”  Powerful and profound scripture right here dealing with priorities!  Martha well meaning as she was had her priorities wrong but her sister Mary had hers right which was listening to Jesus which we should all be doing!  We can learn from both of these sisters here a very valuable lesson on priorities!
We all have at some point have had our priorities wrong in that we get sidetracked and caught up in the cares of life.  It can happen so easily if we are not careful.   We must always remember that God/Jesus is our number one priority followed by our own well being, our families, friends and loved ones.   When we make it a habit and learn to do things in decency and order, everything else will work itself out and we will be less stressed.  We must be intentional about this!  Jesus Christ Himself said in the gospel of Matthew 6:33-34 (NIV version) “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.  Each day has enough trouble of its own.”  This is great advice to live by!
So with the above being said let’s all strive together in getting our priorities straight by keeping God/Jesus first and everything else will follow.   When we are intentional about doing this we, our surrounding communities and the world 🌎 will be a much better place!  Sometimes instead of just always doing, doing, doing, and running around all the time we need to learn to ‘just be’.  Be still,  refocus and be the people who God/Jesus has called us to be.  We can and will do this together making this world 🌎 a much better place! Peace ✌️ ☮️ 🕊 and love ❤️!!
