“Do not follow the crowd.” (Part 2)
Greetings! Exodus 23:2-3 (NIV version reads) “Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong. When you give testimony in a lawsuit, do not pervert justice by siding with the crowd, and do not show favoritism to a poor person in a lawsuit.” Also the gospel of Matthew 7:13-14 (NIV version and spoken by the words of Jesus Christ Himself reads) “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” Both here are powerful and profound Bible scriptures which are instructing us to do the right thing instead of following the crowd! It is instructing us to do the right thing at the cost of us being set apart from the masses.
In today’s society it is easy to succumb to the pressures of society’s norms whether they are right or wrong. When we are set apart by doing the right thing it can be lonely and seems like we are being contrary and odd but in the end it is very rewarding!! Peer pressure (yes even from adults) can be challenging which is why we must be grounded in our faith with God/Jesus and our own convictions! It also helps to surround ourselves with both likeminded people as well as people who are going to push and grow us to be better. In other words to be cautious of and to MIND our circles and associations so that hopefully making the right choices is a bit easier.
So with all this in mind let’s altogether choose and strive to always do the right thing and not follow the crowd! As we have already discussed following the crowd can be misleading, deceptive and can get us in trouble and is not always pleasing to God/Jesus. Together let’s all strive to do the right thing in making this world a better place! We can do this!! Peace ✌️ ☮️ 🕊 and love ❤️!!
Amen
