“Overlooking offenses and ignorant and demeaning statements.”
Greetings! Proverbs 19:11 (NIV version) reads “A person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense.” A powerful Bible verse right here! If we are honest this is not always easy to do! Especially when people are being demeaning and saying things that are hurtful to us. Now I’m not saying we have to take continued abuse either because we can speak to the person causing us offense on the side letting them now how that is hurting and affecting us. Hopefully they will be reasonable and rational enough and will listen. We must always consult the Holy Spirit in these matters. If they do not listen, we can remove ourselves and deal with the situation accordingly but peacefully. You and I must protect our peace!
We are reminded from the scripture above that we do not always have to reactionary to what people may say but be proactive instead which is better. Sometimes not saying anything and moving on is the best thing to do. Let God/Jesus take care of the rest! So let’s all together be proactive and not always reactive to what people may say. We will save ourselves a lot of unnecessary grief in the long term. We will together overlook offenses and move on to greater things! Peace ✌️ ☮️ 🕊 and love ❤️!!
